Zari is the Persian-Urdu word for gold or silver thread, historically used in fine embroidery work. This hathphool — a ring connected by chain to a bracelet, worn across the back of the hand, uses that same idea of thread-like connection, its round pavé cluster links trailing like woven gold between wrist and finger.
